Clarkstown Police Chief Sues for Reinstatement
Michael Sullivan has countered the disciplinary charges against him: news report

NEW CITY, NY — Michael Sullivan, the suspended chief of the Clarkstown Police Department, has filed a lawsuit against the Town Board, The Journal News reports.
Along with the lawsuit, Sullivan filed an affidavit alleging that George Hoehmann, a former town councilman who was elected Town Supervisor in November had been trying to oust him since Sgt. Michael Garvey had been fired after a 3-year disability fight. According to the affidavit, Garvey supported Hoehmann's campaign with a campaign contribution funneled through a company registered in Delaware; Sullivan told Rockland District Attorney Thomas Zugibe; an investigation began and his suspension followed.

The lawsuit was filed in State Supreme Court after another 15 disciplinary charges were leveled against Sullivan alleging the unlawful surveillance of members of law enforcement running for office, elected officials including members of the judiciary, Clarkstown residents and residents of the surrounding community.
