Clarkstown Students Hit The Books
Teachers, administrators welcome students, parents to new school year.
It's official, New City children have gone back to school. This lovely September morning was the backdrop for many children as they rode the bus to school for the first time in the 2010-11 school year.
Little Tor Elementary opened its doors to parents and children alike. School Board President Phil DeGaetano was on hand to have coffee with parents at Little Tor PTA's welcome back meeting.
"This is the best day of the year to be on the school board, I will be going to every school in the district today. Even the high schools," DeGaetano said.

The energy in Little Tor was buzzing as parents and members of Little Tor's PTA held a welcome back meeting in the cafeteria. Parents enjoyed a cup of joe and piece of fruit while their children streamed down the halls and into their classrooms.
Although today was the start of the school year, kids are off the rest of the week for Rosh Hashanah.
