Clarkstown Town Clerk Is Running To Replace Carlucci As Senator
Justin Sweet was appointed to replace Carlucci when the latter was elected to the state senate.

NEW CITY, NY — When David Carlucci left his job as Clarkstown town clerk, Justin Sweet replaced him. Now Sweet want to replace Carlucci as state senator, since Carlucci is running to replace Rep. Nita Lowey.
Sweet, who serves also as the receiver of taxes, made his announcement Monday to run to represent Senate District 38, the Journal News reported.
Sweet is a Rockland native who graduated from SUNY Buffalo and Pace University law school.

The 38th Senate District is comprised of the Town of Ossining in Westchester County and the towns of Clarkstown, Orangetown and Ramapo in Rockland.
Carlucci is one of seven Democrats vying to replace Lowey, who announced her retirement in October.

Combat veteran Asha Castleberry-Herrnandez of Elmsford, prosecutor Adam Schliefer of Chappaqua, Mondaire Jones of Rockland County, former assistant deputy secretary of state Evelyn Farkas of Chappaqua, Assemblyan David Buchwald of White Plains and former NARAL chairwoman Allison Fine of Sleepy Hollow are also in the race.
