Clarkstown's Pupil Personnel Services Head to Receive Award

His services to children in the district's special education programs—and their families—is being recognized by a regional nonprofit.

Arnold Fucci, the Clarkstown school district’s Executive Director of Pupil Personnel Services, will be recognized by PULSES of the Mid-Hudson Valley in its sixth annual awards ceremony in November.

He will be receiving the 2014 PULSES Outstanding Service Award.

PULSES (Parents Learning the Special Education System) is a nonprofit parent organization. According to its website, its mession is to connect special education families to existing resources and support systems and support positive change in the special education services across the school districts in New York’s Mid-Hudson Valley.

The awards program started in 2009 recognizes parents, service providers and school personnel for outstanding achievements in special ed.

“Mr. Fucci has always shown great sensitivity and understanding when working with students and parents in recommending placements and appropriate services. Clarkstown is very proud to have him as a member of our staff,” officials said on the school district website.
