Congers, Suffern Man Charged after Thruway Stop in Clarkstown

State police allege the two were in possession of psilocybin.

Brian Daly, 38, of Suffern, NY and Michael Toomey, 46, of Congers, NY face drug charges in connection with an April 18 traffic stop in Clarkstown.

The pair were in a vehicle stopped for Vehicle and Traffic law violations on the New York State Thruway in the Town of Clarkstown, state police said.

Police allege they were found to possess a quantity of mushrooms laced with the hallucinogen psilocybin.

They were charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Second Degree. In addition Toomey had an active warrant for assault from the Town of Clarkstown police and Daly was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs.

They were arraigned in the Town of Clarkstown Court and sent to Rockland County Jail.
