Cops: Drunk Driver Threw Furniture

A driver apparently transferred her anger from her passenger to the state troopers who accused her of driving while intoxicated.

NEW CITY, NY — A Pomona resident transferred her anger from her passenger to the state troopers who accused her of driving while intoxicated Sunday, police said.

Malgorzata Sabia, 30, was traveling on the Palisades Interstate Parkway in the town of Clarkstown when she was allegedly involved in an argument with a passenger in her vehicle. Troopers stopped to investigate.

They concluded that the she was impaired by alcohol and arrested her.

After being processed for DWI, Sabia became combative and began to throw furniture in the lobby of New York State Police offices in Haverstraw, police alleged. As they attempted to calm her down she struck a trooper.

She was additionally charged with Disorderly Conduct (misdemeanor), Harassment 2nd (violation) and Obstruction of Governmental Administration (Misdemeanor).
