Cops: Man Accused in Credit Card Fraud Spending Spree

Police allege he had another fraudulent credit card on him when arrested while leaving Clarkstown court on an unrelated charge.

Clarkstown detectives arrested Nicos Dinkins of Spring Valley, NY on April 4 as he was leaving town court on an unrelated appearance about a traffic ticket.

Dinkins's arrest is connected to a fraud case from back in February in which police believe that Dinkins obtained a New City resident’s credit card number and went on a spending spree. Over a 4-day period police allege the 27-year-old used the card for more than $1,800 worth of purchases in the Nanuet and West Nyack area.

The detective bureau was able to place Dinkins at the locations the credit card number was used, police said.

Dinkins was charged with criminal possession of forged instrument 2nd (felony), criminal possession of stolen property 4th (felony), Identity theft 1st and 2nd (felonies), and grand larceny 4th (felony). He was arraigned in Clarkstown Justice Court and sent without bail to the Rockland County Jail. He is due to return to court on April 8.
