Crash on the Palisades Parkway Kills One

STONY POINT, NY — The New York State Police are investigating a one-car fatal automobile accident in Rockland County July 7. The crash took the life of a Monroe, NY resident. It happened on the Palisades Interstate Parkway, just north of Exit 16 in the Town of Stony Point, at about 10 a.m.

Christian M. Liga, 30, was operating his 2007 Toyota Rav4 southbound when he lost control of the vehicle and traveled into the grassy center median and struck several trees, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the investigation is continuing.
