Day, Latimer Meet To Discuss Issues For Both Counties

They said this will be the first of many such meetings.

NEW CITY, NY — The county executives of Westchester and Rockland met Thursday in New City to discuss issues that impact both counties. Westchester County Executive George Latimer and Rockland County Executive Ed Day talked about bridge tolls, express bus routes, shared services, state mandates and legislation to raise the age of criminal responsibility.

Latimer said the meeting was about governing well.

“This is about finding common ground and figuring out how we can do something that benefits both of our counties,” he said. “Most people aren’t concerned with governmental jurisdictions, they just want a better life, and we want to bot try to provide that together.”
