Disabled on the Thruway, DWI for Yorktown Man

State police stopped to render aid on Saturday morning...

On July 18, at 10:57 a.m., State Police stopped to render aid to a possible disabled vehicle on I-87.

The driver of the vehicle, Guillermo Almanzar-Estevez, 46 of Yorktown Heights, NY was found to be intoxicated. Almanzar-Estevez was transported and processed at SP Monroe, where his blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.21 percent. Almanzar-Estevez was charged with:

  • Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, Unclassified Misdemeanor

Almanzar-Estevez was turned over to a sober third party and released on an appearance ticket returnable to the town of Suffern Court on Aug. 4.
