Donate Those Unused Legos to Hospitalized Children
This middle-schooler is running a charity drive to collect and donate the popular building sets.
Jake Dorfman, a 7th-grade honors student at Felix Festa Middle School, has partnered with Vinny’s Kids Inc. as his mitzvah project for his upcoming Bar Mitzvah.
As a former avid Lego builder his collection was extensive. It is now time to Let-Go-Of-The-Legos and give to someone else who will greatly benefit from his collection.
 Â
This organization will accept Legos, new or used, to be donated to hospitalized and chronically ill children with disabling conditions. The Legos will be used to entertain and enhance their lives during their hospital stays.
These children are bedridden, have chronic life threatening illnesses or special needs. The mission is for each child to get a container filled with Legos. They will be able to create positive memories as they build their creations.
This organization also accepts crafts, activity items, toys, games and other fun items. The website is www.vinnyskids.org and will provide Jake’s wish list.
Jake’s goal is to collect as many Legos as possible. Donations can be dropped off at HobbyTown USA, Nanuet NY, Nanuet Hebrew Center, New City, NY and Toywiz, Nanuet NY.
You can also email Jake to arrange for pickup of donations at ldorfman18@aol.com.
