Employees Accused of Theft at Dick's Sporting Goods
Clarkstown police said two West Haverstraw men have been charged.
The Clarkstown Police Department responded to Dick’s Sporting Goods located in the Palisades Mall in West Nyack May 2 for a report of employee thefts.
Responding officers interviewed a loss prevention employee who stated that one of their employees was voiding purchases of merchandise made by a customer, who then left with merchandise without having paid for the items.
The customer had been hired by Dick’s Sporting Goods.

The thefts were reportedly taking place over the last six months. In total, $2,670 worth of sporting merchandise was stolen.
Police arrested Luis Hernandez, 20, of West Haverstraw and Raul Lopez, 18, of West Haverstraw.

Hernandez was charged with grand larceny 4th (felony) and falsifying business records 1st (felony). Lopez was charged with grand larceny 4th (felony).
Both were arraigned in Clarkstown Justice Court and released on their own recognizance. They will return to Clarkstown Justice Court on June 27.
