Individuals, families, businesses and organizations will step up to prevent child abuse on July 23rd, by taking part in the 2011 1st Annual 5K Run/Walk for Children, Rockland County! This event will feature a 5K Run, 5K Walk and a Fun Run for Kids. Prizes will be given to the top runners in each age category, the top 3 walkers and the participant that collects the most donations. The run/walk is comprised of a 3.1 mile course that begins at 9:00 a.m. Entry fee is $20 for participants ages 13 and older. Children 12 and under are free. Pre-registered participants are guaranteed a race t-shirt.
All proceeds from this race are donated to Prevent Child Abuse NY, a not for profit agency dedicated to ending child abuse through prevention programs. We will also be donating 25% of registration fees to a Rockland County children's charity. This year the donation will go to a local children's advocacy program. The event will start and end at Cherry Lane Elementary School, 1 Heather Drive, Suffern NY. Check in and late registration starts at 8:00 a.m.
