20th Annual Rockland Road Runners 5-Mile Turkey Trot

This race is held at Rockland Lake State Park, Route 9W, Congers, N.Y. It benefits several worthwhile causes, including the Marisa Fund to eradicate childhood cancers; People to People, Rockland's largest food pantry; the Rockland County Police Hispanic Society Scholarship Fund; and the Vasculitis Foundation. This event is Rockland County's largest road race with more than 2,600 registered entrants last year. Participants can bring non-perishable items for People to People's annual food drive. Entry fees are $25 pre-registered, $20 for Rockland Road Runners members and for participants age 65 or older, and $35 for all race-day registrants. Runners can pre-register and pick up race numbers and T-shirts on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, Nov. 21, 22 and 23, from noon to 8 p.m. at Bravo Restaurant, 4th floor, Palisades Center Mall. On race day check-in runs from 6:45 to 8 a.m. Wheelchair start is at 8:15 a.m., mass start at 8:30 a.m. Register online at www.rocklandroadrunners.org/turkeytrot.
