New York singer/songwriter Christopher Brown will perform in concert at the Acoustic Café Music Series on Saturday, April 14th at 8:00 pm at Our Lady of Mercy Academy, 25 Fremont Avenue in Park Ridge New Jersey.
Christopher Brown will be accompanied by John Walsh on guitar and Lincoln Schleifer on bass. Special guest Marci Geller will open the show, with Marshal Rosenberg on percussion.
Brown is not only a singer/songwriter but an artist/illustrator, who can capture a subject's essence through caricature. With a few strokes, he reveals hints of a character's nature or temperament, their mystery or charm. He does the same thing with lyric and melody, outlining and shading characters and moments, even yearnings and states of mind. His deep rumble of a voice can be as direct as an approaching train, yet is warm and forgiving.

On his third CD, Characterist, Brown sings of lessons learned and of taking stock mid-way through the journey. He chuckles over the big stuff, even death, but sings with tenderness of the small turns in life that leave their marks on all of us. He'll introduce you to his dad, to Cyrano and Juliet's little-known relationship, to an honest and oddly likeable Devil and to a soldier in Vietnam.
Chris has shared the stage with Pete Seeger, Peter Yarrow, Buskin & Batteau, James Maddock and Jonathan Edwards, at venues throughout the Northeast, including the Townecrier, Hard Rock Café, Watercolor Café & The Pleasantville Music Festival.
