We can all hit a home run for Jawonio Employment and Day Services together. As you may recall, Nyack suffered a terrible flood which impacted a number of businesses on Main Street. One of the programs that was effectively wiped out was our Nyack Studio Arts Program. Thankfully, no one was there at the time, but we lost all of the beautiful artwork produced by our consumers, all supplies, computers, furniture and equipment. This program is part of our Employment and Day Services, and serves as the driving force for our fundraising efforts.
Our other services, including our Day Services in New City and Westchester along with our Employment programs and Consumer-Driven Services will also benefit from the Charity Challenge.
Jawonio has a long and proud history of serving people with disabilities and special needs throughout our community. We have been particularly hard hit by the economy and difficult budgetary constraints.
This will be a fantastic, fun and wonderful community event, celebrating the generosity and partnership between Active, The Rockland Boulders and Jawonio.
