Flat on the Thruway Leads to DWI Charge

The New City man is due back in Orangetown Court.

At about 11:29 p.m. May 19, State Police stopped to render aid to a disabled vehicle with a flat tire on I-87.

The driver of the vehicle, Michael J. Fifelski, 37, of New City, NY, was found to be intoxicated. He was transported and processed at SP Tarrytown, where his blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.18%. He was subsequently charged with:

  • Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated; an Unclassified Misdemeanor

Fifelski was turned over to a sober third party and released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Orangetown Court on June 7.
