Forged Car Documents Found During Thruway Traffic Stop: Cops

Two Sleepy Hollow residents are in jail in Rockland County.

NEW CITY, NY – Two Sleepy Hollow residents face forgery charges after a traffic stop on the New York State Thruway Monday. State police said they stopped a car at about 1:33 p.m. for a vehicle and traffic violation.

The trooper concluded while interviewing the driver that there was probable cause to search the vehicle and its occupants.

What they found were a forged New York State dealer plate, forged New York State vehicle registration, and a forged New York State Insurance card.

The driver, EricksonRodriguez-Martinez, 26, and his passenger Jhon C. Santos Guzman, 26, were taken into custody, transported, and processed at SP Tarrytown, where they were charged with:

  • Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd degree; a Class D Felony
  • Forgery 2nd degree; a Class D Felony
  • Vehicle and Traffic Violation (driver only)


Both were arraigned in the Village of Grandview Court and sent to the Rockland County Jail in lieu of $5000 cash or bond.
