NEW CITY, NY — Signs plastered all over the strip-mall storefront offered guns, knives, ammo to buy, sell, trade. New City residents were shocked.

"I believe guns are good for protection for the right people to carry. However I don’t believe this place belongs on Main Street," Patch commenter "Rob" said in a neighbor conversation.

In fact, "Chew's Guns & Ammo" was a film set for FBI: Most Wanted.

"This week, FBI: Most Wanted is filming at a few locations across New City including the old Radio Shack on Main Street," Clarkstown officials wrote on Facebook on Wednesday. "Many residents have expressed concern about a new gun store opening in that location. Please be advised this makeover is for filming purpose only and is not an actual gun store."

There was even an explosion during filming on Thursday. Clarkstown police warned residents on Facebook that "During the filming an “explosion” is expected to take place approximately 7pm. All filming will be contained to the parking lot of 55 S. Main St (New City), if you are in the immediate area you may hear this controlled “explosion.” Short term road closures may be expected."
