Are you looking for a great gift for a 40 year old women? Today's 40 year olds have as much fun, if not more, than those half their age! In terms of gift ideas, women of this age prefer a lot of things and it all depends on their lifestyle, personality as well as habits. Some of them prefer to ride to the new trend of the modern world and few of them want to continue the way they have the past years where they are living the classic way of life. Here I have carefully picked 10 gift ideas for this holiday season.

1. Makeup: Flattering foundation, Facial highlighter, Concealer, Eye cream, Eyeliner, Perfect lipstick

Age defying makeup tricks aren't just for "older" women, whatever that means – you're only as old as you feel. After all, every laugh line, every wrinkle, and every stitch between your brows says something about the life you've lived and your personality. But still it would be nice to reduce or hide these imperfections. After all we put our best "face forward" So gifting these Age defying makeup will be great and surely appreciated. Don't get offended ladies, only trying to help.
Every brand has their own line of make up for mature women, I personally like different lines for different item. Most can be found at Sephora or at your local drug store.

2. Diane Von Furstenberg Wrap Dress

This is me! If you are like me or follow my blog or even remotely know me, you know DVF is the ONLY dresses I ever wear. I love love DVF, her dresses are a blessing to women IMO. Any fashionista worth her salt has a Diane von Furstenberg wrap dress. These dresses are classy and iconic at any age for any shape. These wrap dress first became popular in early 70s and still is single most versatile dress today. Every woman has to own a wrap dress in her closet, I recommend solid in a classic neutral color or a very classic print.


3. J Crew Cashmere Cardigan in beautiful colors 

Although J Crew is true Americana, First lady Michelle Obama reinstated J Crew back to its true "Born in the USA" roots. What makes the J Crew cashmere so special? They are made with finest softest yarn. They are very  luxurious. Give the cardigan in a great color.

4. I pad or Ipad mini

I took my I pad mini to my European adventure and it was very  useful. It was small and lightweight enough to just put in handbag or even a clutch for evening dinners. It takes great pictures, write my posts on the notepad and upload using my Wifi. Its perfect and makes a great gift. The I pad is great but my vote goes to the Mini version especially to us women.

5. Michael Kors classic Tote

I had this on my previous post for "Mothers Day gift ideas" May issue. I feel this is such a great gift so I'm bringing it back. This is very versatile and it will fit all the essentials she needs to carry. Very stylish, modern and timeless. It has top zip close to keep everything secure, comes in different colors. This bag is perfect for any age mom.

6. Gift certificates to Spa for Microdermabrasion or Botox

 I'm sure you read this gift idea everywhere its kinda clich'e. But my idea is slightly different. Although I recommend a spa certificate for a massage/mani/pedi/ facial, why not a certificate this time for a Microdermabrasion or some Botox. I know I know call me shallow. I believe if we can just upkeep a little what god has already given us, nothing wrong with it. You don't have to change who you are but a little help to hold on to what we already have is a winning gift idea!

 7. Diamond Studs
Its the ultimate classy gift. A pair of Diamond earings says the unsaid. Remember great things come in small packages.

8. Gold or silver compact mirror

This is my favorite gift. Its original and doubt any woman will not like it. I always carry a small compact mirror in my purse. Why not give her a trinklet compact from your local artist or one from the exclusive expensive from artist Jay Strongwater. I have one, its a little expensive $400 but its an heirloom to be passed down to my daughters.
                                   

9. Pandora Charm Bracelet

These bracelets are very popular and the stores are everywhere. I'm not a charm bracelet kind woman but I'm sure most of you are. I'm not a very sentimental mommy or wifey. But if you are, you can add charms significant to your life. I hope my kids read this post so they know better to NOT to gift me a Pandora bracelet. Sorry, not for me but thy still make great sentimental gifts.

10. Something from her Bucket List

Steal her diary, read her bucket list and surprise her. Maybe she wants to take a trip, meet up an old lost friend, a hobby or just a fantasy. Make it happen!
Oh yea, make sure you act you just know her too well and not got the idea off her journal.
