Hudson Valley Holiday Surge: Wednesday Coronavirus Cases
There were 438 people hospitalized in the region with COVID-19 on Tuesday, state officials reported.
HUDSON VALLEY, NY — The Hudson region's positive test rate rose to 7.7 percent Tuesday from 3.7 percent Dec. 1.
The breakdown of new cases:
- Dutchess County: 293
- Orange: 470
- Putnam: 134
- Rockland: 380
- Sullivan: 80
- Ulster: 117
- Westchester: 1,400
There were 438 people hospitalized in the region with COVID-19 on Tuesday, state officials reported. That's up 76 percent from Dec. 1, when there were 248 patients hospitalized with the disease caused by the coronavirus.

Deaths reported Wednesday included two in Rockland, two in Ulster and one in Westchester.
