Jawonio: transforming lives with a lifespan of services.
Please help support our work in support of children and adults with disabilities, mental health challenges and chronic medical needs.
Since 1965, the Jawonio Dinner Dance has given us the opportunity to recognize ordinary individuals providing extraordinary contributions to the people we serve. Our honorees have dedicated themselves to our mission through their compassion, commitment and service. This year, on Sunday October 26th at 5pm, Paramount Country Club, New City, NY we are proud to honor the Orangetown Jewish Center (OJC) Youth Group and Mindworks Charitable Lead Trust. About Our Honorees:
The OJC Youth Group connection to Jawonio is long and deep, spanning three generations and more than three decades. Among their teen leadership are grandchildren of two long-standing board members of Jawonio. The OJC Youth have truly “adopted” Jawonio and over the last ten years have donated their time, energy and fundraising dollars. The teens have participated in summer and winter carnivals, bowl-a-thons, golf-a-thons, swim-a-thons, film benefits, bingo nights and made special visits to our group homes.
Mindworks Charitable Lead Trust is dedicated to funding meaningful scientific research into Autism Spectrum Disorders, as well as evidence-based educational programs for children and adults with Autism and other developmental disabilities. Mindworks currently supports a unique clinical and diagnostic service at Jawonio. With their generous gift, a developmental pediatrician provides monthly evaluations and parent/staff consultations for our children receiving early intervention services and those who attend our special education preschool.
