Open house at RCC shows off local program.

Rocklanders interested in becoming paralegals have a chance to find out how to enter the profession.

Rockland Community College's Paralegal program has an Open House on Thursday, August 12, 5 – 7 p.m., on the second floor of the Student Union, Room 3214, 145 College Rd., Ramapo.

At the Open House students can sign up for classes and learn details about the American Bar Association approved program, including internship and job opportunities. "The US Department of Labor regularly ranks the paralegal field as one of the fastest growing in the nation," said Deborah Vinecour, Esq., Chair/Associate Professor, Paralegal Program. There are as many varieties of paralegals as there are lawyers, she noted.

"SUNY Rockland offers a good generalized paralegal education. It's a wonderful starting point for everyone," said Vinecour, who has been in the field for 18 years.
