Letter to the Editor: Day Responds to Union Complaint
The writer answers an op-ed about a meeting called for Finance Department staffers whose jobs were restored by the Legislature.
To the Editor:
Strong management practices are often misinterpreted. The cooperation between my administration and the CSEA in reaching a tentative deal shows our willingness to work together.
We recognize the CSEA’s representation of a dedicated workforce that’s committed to providing essential services for the people of Rockland County, with a priority on protecting the taxpayers.

And, point of fact: Deputy Budget Director Steven Grogan is NOT an appointee. He is a member of the RAM union, not CSEA. Mr. Grogan has been with the county for many years prior to my election as County Executive.
