Letter to the Editor: Get Up, Stand Up: East Ramapo's Election 2015 Endorsements

The writer says a high turnout is essential to defeat incumbents aligned with special interests.

The political climate in Ramapo is such that a complete overhaul of the old guard establishment is the only means of freeing the East Ramapo Central School District from the chains of special interests. It’s no secret that corruption is rampant - and terribly intertwined, from school boards to zoning boards.

As such, Get Up, Stand Up: East Ramapo’s Political Action Committee is fighting for the right candidates in November - candidates dedicated to ending educational, social and economic inequality.

Our initial endorsement includes: Ramapo United for Victory (Mike Parietti for Ramapo Town Supervisor; Timothy Scott for Ramapo Town Council; William Weber for Ramapo Town Council; Robert Romanowski for Ramapo Supt. of Highways) Betty Carmand for Rockland County Legislator (District 8) Jacques Chirac for County Legislator (District 13) and Richard Vasquez (Rockland County Sheriff).

Their mostly-incumbent opponents - architects of the status quo - are tightly aligned with corrupt special interests. DO NOT VOTE FOR: Christopher St. Lawrence (Ramapo Town Supervisor) Brendel Logan-Charles and Samuel Tress (Ramapo Town Council) Toney Earl (Rockland County Legislator, District 8) Aron Wieder (Rockland County Legislator, District 13) and Louis Falco (Rockland County Sheriff).

As the ward vote proves, we have the votes (the legitimate ones, at least). We just need TURNOUT. On November 3: Vote!
