Miss NY And Miss NY Teen Competitions Will Be Held In Rockland County

The three-day event at Rockland Community College will bring more than 50 hopefuls to compete for crowns.

NEW CITY, NY — Pomp and pageantry will be on display this summer in Rockland County.

This year, the county will host the Miss New York and Miss New York's Teen Competition from June 25 through June 27, at Rockland Community College's Cultural Arts Theater in New City. Organizers said the event will bring more than 50 contestants to the region for a week centered on competition, cultural exchange, and community engagement.

Ticketed competition events are scheduled for Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at the theater on the RCC campus. Tickets are available through the Miss New York ticketing page.

County Executive Ed Day said the event will put Rockland County in front of visitors and audiences beyond the region.

"We are proud to welcome the Miss New York and Miss New York's Teen Competition to Rockland County. This event showcases our vibrant community and the best of what our region has to offer," Day said.

Jenna Nazario, identified in the announcement as Economic Development Director, said the competition also offers a chance to draw attention to local commerce and arts assets.

"Hosting Miss New York in Rockland is a great opportunity to highlight our small businesses, culture, and the RCC Cultural Arts Theater, while showcasing the pride and energy of our community," Nazario said.

Rockland Community College said it is proud to serve as the host venue.

Mullaney.

The Miss New York Scholarship Organization also pointed to the partnership with the county and the college.

"We are absolutely thrilled and honored to bring the Miss New York Competition to Rockland County this June," said Sloane Lewis, Executive Director, Miss New York Scholarship Organization. "The county and the leadership at Rockland Community College have shown immense support and commitment to making it an unforgettable experience for our contestants, their families, and the audience in this wonderful community."

According to the announcement, contestants will also take part in local activities designed to introduce them to Rockland County. The county said participants will share those experiences on social media, giving wider audiences a look at Rockland's culture, creativity and small businesses. The announcement also said many contestants will be traveling from out of state, with family and friends expected to visit as well.
