Rev. Msgr. Dr. John Oppong-Baah, (nickname JOB), born Jan. 14, 1947, entered into eternal rest on Jan. 28, 2018. JOB entered the seminary in Ghana and was ordained on July 7, 1979. He received a B.A. in history, with higher Diploma in Education from the University of Cork, Ireland (1984). From Fordham University, he obtained a M.A. in Counseling and Spiritual Direction in 2003). In 2006, he received an Oxford Continuous Education Doctorate in Ministry (Scripture and Psychology). Prior to serving as Associate Pastor at St. Augustine Parish, New City, NY (2016-2017), he spent summers at St. Mary of the Assumption, Katonah, St. Denis, Hopewell Junction, and St. Augustine, New City. The rest of the year, JOB spent in his native Ghana as Counselor, Poet, Spiritual Director, and Lecturer at St. Paul Major Seminary (Catholic), Accra, Ghana.

The tradition of Month's Mind Mass started in medieval England and commemorated the deceased 30 days after their passing. The Catholic Mass was the standard requiem Mass with several prayers added specifically for those who had passed away during the previous month.
