NEW CITY ROTARY TO AWARD $6,000 IN STUDENT SCHOLARHIPS ON JUNE 8TH
Student Scholarship Winners
On Monday, June 8, the Rotary Club of New City will present six graduating seniors with an award of $1,000 each, for superior academic achievement and community service. Rotarian and Award Chairperson Sheldon Horowitz will make presentations to Peter O’Neill, Clarkstown South; Jacqueline Hennelly, Albertus Magnus; Skye Miller, Clarkstown North; Melissa Levine, Clarkstown North; Matthew Marchese, Clarkstown North; and Kush Patel, Clarkstown North.
Rotary International is an international service organization whose stated purpose is to bring together business and professional leaders in order to provide humanitarian services and help build goodwill and peace in the world.
Fulfilling the motto ‘Service above Self’, the New City Rotary club donated a Shelter Box to Nepal, devastated by the recent earthquake. Shelter boxes are packed with items that provide disaster victims with emergency shelter and living supplies.
