New City Rotary Donates $7,000 to Rockland County Food Banks

Club brings holiday cheer to Rockland Food Pantries

In its efforts to combat hunger in the community, the Rotary Club of New City recently donated the proceeds of its fall Wine & Food fundraiser to two organizations which provide assistance to struggling Rocklanders facing difficult times.

People to People, which provides assistance to nearly 14,000 households, was the recipient of a $5000 donation from the Rotary Club. In addition, Meals on Wheels, which delivers meals to 700 people throughout the year, received a donation of $2000.

Club President Larry Luxenberg presented the donation to People to People Board Vice President Robert Pitofsky and board member Cheryl Santi-Luks. Associate Director Jim Burton accepted the donation of behalf of Meals on Wheels.
