Hillsborough Man Charged With Felony DWI In Rockland County

He was stopped on the New York State Thruway, police said.

CLARKSTOWN, NY — A Hillsborough, New Jersey man faces a felony charge of driving while intoxicated after having been stopped on the New York State Thruway Saturday.

New York State police said they stopped a car at 10 p.m. for a vehicle and traffic violation and then concluded the driver, Pedro Cruzgonzalez, 40, was intoxicated.

He was taken into custody, transported and processed at State Police offices in Tarrytown, where his blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.20 percent.

Cruzgonzalez has a prior DWI conviction within the last 10 years and as a result was subsequently charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated; a Class E Felony, police said.

He was turned over to a sober third party and released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Clarkstown Court on Feb. 13.
