NJ Man Faces DWI Charge in Clarkstown

State police stopped at what they thought was a disabled car on the Thruway.

State Police stopped to render aid to a possible disabled vehicle on I-87 at 3 a.m. Saturday.

They concluded that the driver of the vehicle, Jose R. Abrego, 46, of Northvale, NJ, was intoxicated.

Abrego was transported and processed at SP Tarrytown, where his blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.20 percent. He was charged with:

  • Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated; an Unclassified Misdemeanor

Abrego was turned over to a sober third party and released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Clarkstown Court on January 20.
