Parole Denied for Clarkstown Claw-Hammer Killer

Jason Hill beat a group home resident to death in 2010 and is serving a 20-to-life sentence.

Jason Hill, who beat a man to death with a claw hammer in Clarkstown in 2010, was denied parole yesterday, according to The Journal News.

The victim, Peter DeLuise, was a resident at a group home for people with developmental disabilities, Laurel Manor Home for Adults. Hill worked there.

Hill was sentenced to 20 years to life and is at Fishkill correctional facility.

The state parole board members said they feared Hill, who had a criminal record and is serving concurrent terms on unrelated convictions, would break the law if freed. They also said granting parole would “deprecate the serious nature of the crime as to undermine respect for the law,” according to the decision released Tuesday, TJN said.
