[PHOTOS] Clarkstown Cup Elementary School Field Day

The first session of the Clarkstown Cup took place Saturday afternoon at Clarkstown North

The second annual Clarkstown Cup kicked off Saturday afternoon with elementary school students from across the county competing in field day activities on the football field at Clarkstown North High School.

The 90-plus students teamed up with others who attend their same school. They started off the day competing in various relay races, including races where they had to leap frog over each other, dribble a soccer ball and hop with a ball between their knees.

The Clarkstown Cup raises money for the Clarkstown Central Athletic Foundation, and last year raised about $6,000, which went to the purchase of elementary school playground equipment, girls’ field hockey equipment and funding for the crew team’s trip to a Saratoga Springs regatta.
