Police Arrest 18-Year-Old In November Fatal Hit-and-Run
She faces a felony charge of leaving the scene of an accident that resulted in someone's death.
RAMAPO, NY — Four months after a Monsey resident was found dead in the woods off West Carlton Road, Ramapo police investigating her death as a hit-and-run have arrested a Monsey teenager.
Miriam Sussman had been reported missing; her body was found at 12:50 a.m. Nov. 28, and police determined she had been struck and killed by a vehicle that didn't stop.
On Monday, investigators made an arrest, charging an 18-year-old from the Monsey area of town with leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident that resulted in the death of another, a felony. She was arraigned by Judge Desir and released without bail, police said.

Due to the her age, her name will not be released as she is eligible for youthful offender status, police said. Such status can only be bestowed by a judge.
