Police ID Men Involved In Weekend Shooting In New City

Police alleged they were shooting at people who had rented the house on Turnberry Court.

NEW CITY, NY — Clarkstown police have identified the five men arrested Saturday after a shooting incident at 3 Turnberry Court.

Clarkstown police said they received several reports of gunshots at 1:45 p.m. When they arrived on Turnberry Court they saw a black Mercedes accelerating away. After a brief chase, the car hit a utility pole and five people got out, scattered, and ran.

Police said were able to catch all five within minutes of the initial 911 call. One of the men trying to elude police gained entry to a nearby home, police said, but was tracked and caught by officers and Clarkstown police K9 Jax.

The New York Post reported that a music video was being filmed at the house, which had been rented through Airbnb.

Due to the ongoing investigation, only a limited amount of information can be released by police, said Det. Norman Peters.

The house on Turnberry Court was rented to someone by the owner, who was not there. It was occupied by a number of young adults. Police did not name the owner or the renter. Neither they nor any of the residents of the cul de sac were harmed, police said.

Four men and a juvenile from Brooklyn face charges:

Armani Miller, 24, has been charged with Attempted Murder - Depraved Indifference 2 (felony), Criminal possession of weapon 2 (felony), Criminal use of a firearm 2 (felony), Reckless endangerment 1 (felony) and numerous NYS VTL infractions.

Ivor Minott, 19, has been charged with Attempted Murder - Depraved Indifference 2 (felony), Criminal possession of weapon 2 (felony), Criminal use of a firearm 2 (felony) and Reckless endangerment 1 (felony).

Garron White, 18, has been charged with Attempted Murder - Depraved Indifference 2 (felony), Criminal possession of weapon 2 (felony), Criminal use of a firearm 2 (felony), Burglary 2 (felony), Reckless endangerment 1 (felony) and Obstruction of governmental administration 2 (misdemeanor).

Daquan Young, 18, has been charged with Attempted Murder - Depraved Indifference 2 (felony), Criminal possession of weapon 2 (felony), Criminal use of a firearm 2 (felony) and Reckless endangerment 1 (felony).

All four were arraigned in Town of Clarkstown Justice Court and sent to the Rockland County Jail in lieu of $150,000 cash or $250,000.00 fully secured bond.

A fifth person, a juvenile, has also been charged in regard to this incident and was arraigned in Town of Haverstraw Justice Court, police said.
