Police Locate Mercedes Suspected In New City Hit-and-Run

A 40-year-old New City man suffered severe injuries when struck crossing Route 304 Tuesday by a car that kept going.

NEW CITY, NY — Clarkstown Police Detectives have located a dark-colored vehicle believed to be involved in a hit-and-run on Route 304 Tuesday that severely injured a pedestrian. The 2015 Mercedes Benz SUV was taken into custody Wednesday for processing.

A 40-year-old New City resident was crossing Route 304 at Third Street at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday when he was struck by a vehicle that kept going south, police said. The victim was transported to Nyack ER for medical attention. He suffered extensive injuries.

The investigation continues and detectives have identified a person of interest in the case, police said.
