Police Seek Car That Hit Bicyclist In New City

Clarkstown police said the vehicle was last seen eastbound on Laurel Road.

NEW CITY, NY — A bicyclist was hit by a car Saturday at 9:45 a.m. on Laurel Road in New City, Clarkstown police said.

The injured bicyclist, a 59-year-old, told police that he was riding east on Laurel Road when an unknown vehicle struck his rear tire causing him to fall. New City Ambulance and Rockland Paramedics provided medical aid and transported him to a hospital.

The vehicle that struck the bicyclist and drove off without stopping was last seen traveling eastbound on Laurel Road. It has been described by witnesses as silver in color, police said.
