Progressive Groups to Protest Carlucci's Participation in the IDC on Saturday
They're styling the protest "A Traditional New Orleans Jazz Funeral."

NEW CITY, NY — Several political groups that oppose State Sen. David Carlucci's participation in the Independent Democratic Caucus are planning to convene at the Rockland County Courthouse Saturday.
In a press release from John Gromada of the Rockland Citizens Action Network and Ivanya Alpert of Rockland United, the groups said:
This action is one of several coordinated events that is occurring throughout New York State in response to the proposed budget. We are part of a wider grassroots movement that has coalesced to protest the IDC and its alliance with the party of Trump. In a state that is over 60% Democrat, there is no reason for Senator Carlucci, who was elected as a Democrat, to enable the GOP to control our budget and determine which legislation gets passed. We are committed to a budget that protects public education, supports free college, reforms the criminal justice system, expands voting rights, and protects access to health care.
Who: Hosted by Rockland United, Rockland Citizens Action Network, and Indivisible Westchester- Rivertowns and Surrounding Areas. Together, we represent thousands of voters in District 38.
What: New Orleans Jazz Funeral
When: Saturday, March 25 at 11am
Where: Rockland County Courthouse, 1 South Main Street, New City, NY.
