Ramapo Seeks To Close Private School

An inspection found that there were more students than was allowed.

MONSEY, NY — Ramapo wants to close a private girls school because of overcrowding. To that end, the municipality has urged a state judge to issue a court order shuttering the school because of unsafe conditions.

The town asked Supreme Court Judge Paul Marx for immediate closure of the school located on Route 306 which is being run as a summer camp citing overcrowding and other violations, the Journal News said.

A recent inspection of the Congregation Bais Chinuch Ateres Bnos school found the 10 modular trailer classrooms had 40 more students than were permitted.
