Rockland 3YO Struck, Killed By Bus In Israel

CHESTNUT RIDGE, NY — A boy from Rockland County died Monday in Israel after he was hit by a bus in a West Bank village. Baruch Eisenberg, 3, was in Israel with his family visiting relatives for Passover, as well as celebrating his third birthday.

Eisenberg was in the village of Beitar Illit, about 10 miles from Jerusalem, when he was killed, the Journal News said.

His funeral was held in Israel Monday night.

Police said that Eisenberg was standing on a sidewalk, grabbed his mother's hand and fell suddenly in the road where he was struck by the bus, israelnationalnews.com said.

First responders found no vital signs when they arrived at the scene and the child was declared dead.
