Rockland Candidate Profile: Feiden For Clarkstown Town Justice

The 57-year-old shares why she should be elected to the Clarkstown Justice Court in another Patch candidate profile for the 2019 election.

NEW CITY, NY — Rockland County has several contested races in this fall's election, including in Clarkstown. New City Patch asked candidates in the contested races to answer questions about their campaigns and will be publishing candidate profiles as election day draws near.

Larraine Feiden, 57, is one of three people running for two open seats on the Clarkstown Justice Court. Also running are David Ascher (D, C, G, WF, I) and Howard Gerber (D, C, G, WF, I). Feiden will appear on the Republican ballot line.

The New City resident is an Assistant Rockland County Attorney in charge of the litigation department. She's currently president of the Rockland County Women's Bar Association. Running her own firm, she has experience in real estate, land use, family and criminal law.

Building code violations and unauthorized overdevelopment. In connection with various innovations that I am responsible for as an Assistant Rockland County Attorney, I plan to implement a building code violation only calendar in Clarkstown Justice Court

What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

I am a community leader, serving my second elected term as President of the Rockland County Women's Bar Association, and having spearheaded 2 grassroots movements in the Clarkstown Central School District. The first reduced class sizes in the elementary schools and the second obtained state funding for the state-of-the-art natatorium.
