NJAS manages the Eric Johnson House, a residence for persons living with AIDS/HIV. The residence is the former rectory of the Church of the Redeemer (Episcopal) in Morristown, NJ. Dr. Wood was the parish’s Senior Warden when the vestry decided to convert the rectory and raise funds for the facility.

Mrs. Wood was a long-time member of the NJAS board and served as vice president from 1998-2004. She is now president of the boards of VCS Inc. and of the African American Historical Society of Rockland County, and a 2014 inductee into the Rockland County Civil Rights Hall of Fame.
