Rockland Driver Kills Orange County Man Saturday

The crash happened just after noon.

SPRING VALLEY, NY — A Hudson Valley man died in a car crash in Chestnut Ridge Saturday. Police said a 67-year-old crashed into a 28-year-old who was standing next to a car on the side of the road.

Ramapo police were called to Scotland Hill Road at 12:05 p.m. They said a Spring Valley man was driving a 2009 Hyndai southbound when he struck Sean Spillman of Washingtonville, who was standing behind a 2014 Ford that was pulled over.

The Ford then struck a second person standing by it, a 61-year-old man also from Washingtonville.

Both men were treated by Rockland Paramedics and rushed to Westchester Medical Center. Spillman later died as a result of his injuries.

The driver of the Hyndai that hit him was not identified by police.

The Ramapo Police Accident Investigation Unit is conducting the ongoing investigation. No summonses or criminal charges have been filed at this time.
