NEW CITY, NY — According to the New York Department of Labor, Rockland County's unemployment rate stands at 4.4 percent. That number is too high to put Rockland in the state's list of counties with the lowest rates.
In fact, no Hudson Valley counties made it onto the most recent list. The cut off was 4.2 percent.
Still, Rockland has a stronger job market than New York as a whole. The state's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate increased from 4.8 percent to 4.9 percent in September 2017.
