Sephora Shoplifting Incident, Arrest

Clarkstown police say a suspect used mace on an employee of the cosmetics merchandiser.

Clarkstown Police responded to Sephora, located at the Shops at Nanuet in Nanuet, for a report of shoplifting on Jan. 21.

A loss prevention employee observed two suspects remove merchandise from a shelf, stuff the merchandise in bags and exit the store without paying for it.

The employee, a 33-year-old West Nyack resident, tried to stop one of them. A struggle ensued between the two men -- at which time the suspect used mace on the employee, police said.
