STAC to Host "Beyond Brinks: Modern Terrorism and the Criminal Justice System"
An intriguing panel discussion for our students and others interested in crime and criminal justice.

St. Thomas Aquinas College’s Criminal Justice Advisory Board will host “Beyond Brinks: Modern Terrorism and the Criminal Justice System,” announces Dr. Ellen Chayet, professor of criminal justice at the College. The event is scheduled for Thursday, April 23, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the College’s Lougheed Library. The event is free and open to the public.
The discussion will focus on how anti-terrorism policies and practices have changed since the Brinks robbery in Rockland County (1981). Panelists will include: Assistant Special Agent in Charge Kenneth Maxwell, Federal Bureau of Investigation (retired); The Honorable John Molinelli, Bergen County Prosecutor; The Honorable Thomas Zugibe, Rockland County District Attorney; Detective Arthur Keenan, Nyack Police Department (retired); and Superintendent Michael Capra, Sing Sing Correctional Facility, NYS Department of Corrections and Community Supervision. A networking reception with the Criminal Justice Advisory board will follow the panel discussion.
“We are excited to host our fifth annual Criminal Justice Advisory Board panel discussion,” says Dr. Chayet. “Our speakers are experienced, top-level professionals representing the different areas of the criminal justice system. They will offer our audience an insider’s look into the world of modern terrorism using the Brinks Robbery, a case played out in Rockland County. This promises to be an intriguing discussion for our students and others interested in crime and criminal justice,” Dr. Chayet adds.
