Student Illness Prompts Building Evacuation at Rockland Community College

Two students became ill Wednesday and first responders were called.

Two students fell ill Wednesday at Rockland Community College in Suffern and a building was evacuated.

An article on News12.com said one student was feeling sick in a classroom and went to the bathroom. A second student went after her when she didn’t come back.

Both students passed out in the bathroom.

A teacher helped the students out of the building, according to FIOS1 News.

Rockland County Hazmat team was dispatched to check out a possible leak in the building, FIOS1 said, adding there was no word on whether it was carbon dioxide or some other gas causing the problem.
