Town Board Approves Bond Resolutions And Settles Tax Challenges
Bonds for drainage improvements, new vehicles, office furniture and software okayed

The Clarkstown Town Board approved four bond resolutions at its Tuesday night meeting that added up to $475,000 for:
- Construction of drainage improvements on Hereford Lane in New City for a maximum cost of $85,000 and anticipated period of usefulness of 40 years;
- Acquisition and installation of furniture for town hall costing up to $100,000 and an expected period of usefulness of five years;
- Acquisition of vehicles for various departments costing up to $245,000 with a expected period of usefulness of three years,
- Purchase of property assessment software for a maximum cost of $45,000 and an anticipated period of usefulness of 10 years.
The board authorized tax certiorari payments for two businesses thtat filed tax challenges. The combined payments amount to more than $27,000.

Lowe’s Home Center of 100 Overlook Blvd in Nanuet filed for reduced tax assessments for 2009 through 2011.
- 2009 - 2010 tax assessment was reduced from $4,571,000 to $4,096,250 at a cost to the town of $10,576.20
- 2010 - 2011 from an assessed value of $4,571,000 to $4,117,500 art a cost to the town of $10,696.24
The town’s payment of $21,272.44 must be made within 60 days.

FASA partners, LCC of 78 North Route 303, West Nyack filed for reduced tax assessments for the years 2009 through 2012.
- 2009 - 2010 tax assessment reduced from $411,800 to $315,000 at a cost to the town of $2,156.45
- 2010 - 2011 from $411,800 to $345,000 at a cost to the town of $1,575.54
- 2011 - 2012 from $411,800 to $305,000 at a cost to the town of $2,627.28
The town must pay $6,359.27 to FASA Partners within 60 days.
