Two Found With Bleeding Neck Wounds On New City Lawn Thursday

The victims are hospitalized and Clarkstown detectives are investigating, police said.

NEW CITY, NY — Clarkstown police are investigating a knife assault Thursday night on Zabella Drive that left two people bleeding on a front lawn.

Someone called to report people screaming, police said. Officers arrived at 22 Zabella Drive at 9 p.m. and found a man and a woman lying in the yard of a neighboring home with bleeding neck wounds, police said.

Officers administered life-saving medical aid to the two injured parties until Nanuet Ambulance and Rockland Paramedics arrived, police said. The victims were transported by Nanuet Ambulance to Montefiore Nyack Hospital, police said. Their identities are being withheld pending notification to their families, police said.

As of Friday morning they were still receiving medical care at Montefiore Nyack Hospital, said Clarkstown Police Office Norman Peters.

"The facts known to us at this time lead us to believe that this is an isolated incident and the public is not in any immediate danger," Peters said.
