Valley Cottage Killings: Grandmother, Mother Identified

VALLEY COTTAGE, NY — Clarkstown Police Department officials have identified the victims of Tuesday's double homicide. They are Wanda Castor, 63, and her daughter, Kathleen Castor, 27, both of Valley Cottage.

Police found the bodies of the two women at 104 Lake Road at 7:10 a.m. Tuesday. They had been shot.

Kathleen Castor's infant child was there, alive. She was evaluated at a local hospital and has been placed in the custody of Child Protective Services.

Detectives said Tuesday they had identified and were talking to a 'person of interest.' Police said the man, whose name was not released, is not yet a suspect and is talking to police voluntarily about the deaths.
